SCFP Pantry Manager

Job Description: Food Pantry Manager Position Type: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week) Compensation: Starting at $17/hour (depending on experience) Location: Somerset Community Food Pantry Reports To: Executive Director & SCFP Board Overview: The Food Pantry Manager is a vital role in supporting our mission to provide food, with respect and dignity, in times of need to those in the Somerset community. This position oversees the daily operations of the food pantry, ensuring it operates smoothly, efficiently, and compassionately. Key Responsibilities: ● Food Management: o Receive and process food deliveries. o Stock and organize pantry shelves. o Track inventory and order food supplies as needed to meet community demand. ● Volunteer Coordination: o Manage, train and schedule volunteers. o Ensure volunteers are supported and maintain a welcoming environment for all. ● Program Oversight: o Manage and oversee the Backpack Program to provide essential food for school-aged children. o Monitor pantry service hours, assisting with operations during open hours and on an emergency basis if needed. ● Administrative Duties: o Maintain accurate records and reports of food distribution and program participation. o Report regularly to the Executive Director, fostering a professional and efficient partnership. Qualifications: ● High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in a related field preferred. ● Strong organizational and time-management skills. ● Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. ● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. ● Experience coordinating volunteers or leading teams is a plus. ● Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems are preferred. ● A passion for serving the community and addressing food insecurity. Schedule: ● Set schedule with occasional evening or weekend availability as needed.
